Money Attitude and Conscience

Updated: May 20, 2020

TODAY'S THOUGHT #1: Your conscience is your alarm system. It's your protection - Charles Stanley

Now that we are on the road to Financial Peace, we are learning how enormously important our conscience is in this training.

Conscience is that little voice inside that tells us what we already know is right or wrong. It's the Holy Spirit. In listening and heeding the constructs of our conscience, we learn that the PRACTICES of foresight, judiciousness, caution, practicality, discretion, discernment, accountability, diligence, integrity, patience, and gratitude yield great results. These are the muscles of our financial decision making and we need to exercise them daily. I will bet that some of you already are seeing the fruits of your new methodologies.

Conversely, if we choose to ignore The Voice (oh and we will from time to time...as we are all imperfect), we suffer financial strain by falling back on the practice of bad habits such as gullibility, carelessness, extravagance, wastefulness, greed, laziness, and envy. Whenever there is a gap between our habits and our objectives, our habits will always win.

And that leads to me to THOUGHT #2: "If a person gets his attitude toward money straight, it will help straighten out almost every other area of his life." - Billy Graham

Our best defense is a good offense and to achieve that, follow the scripture reflected in Philippians 4:6 - "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done."
